This page is dedicated to sharing the story of the late Senator and two-time Presidential candidate Estes Kefauver of Tennessee.
The site is operated by Colin Mills, a political history junkie from Northern Virginia. (He has a collection of hundreds of campaign buttons to prove it!)
Colin has no personal connection to Senator Kefauver; he has never lived in Tennessee and he was born 16 years after Kefauver’s death. However, during his studies of midcentury American politics, he came across Kefauver’s name repeatedly, and decided to do a deeper dive into the Senator’s life and work. The more Colin learned, the more he came to respect and admire this singular and remarkable statesman. He also came to believe that Estes Kefauver’s example could be the cure for what ails our modern political culture.
